Our First Week at Home with RTM

I can't believe Baby Robert has been home for a week already!  We are loving every minute with him and learning so much about his little personality and what he likes and doesn't like.  He is such a sweet boy and generally pretty happy and content.  He loves to swing and rock and be snuggled and held.  He already smiles, grins and smirks at us and he loves to look around and be talked to.  He doesn't like for his arms to be swaddled or for his diaper to be dirty.  Here are some pictures of our first week at home.

38 Weeks

So we are now 38 weeks pregnant and ready and waiting!  As of my last Dr.'s appointment there wasn't a whole lot of progress to speak of, so it seems as though Robert is quite content for now.  But he does have two more weeks until he is actually due.  Jack and I have been busy cleaning and doing last minute baby related tasks as we anxiously await his arrival.  Grandma and Grandpa Haack will be making the trip from Florida this weekend to make sure they don't miss the big event!  Although if we don't make some progress towards labor we might all be sitting around and staring at this belly for a while longer.  We've waited this long so I guess we can wait a couple more weeks but we are so excited and ready to meet our son!

Robert Tyler's Nursery

It's finally done!  I've had so much fun decorating Baby Robert's nursery!  Jack has been a wonderful help.  He painted, moved furniture around and did lots and lots of hanging.

I'd like to thank everyone who gave such beautiful gifts to help make his room perfect.  A special thank you goes out to Aunt Becca for hunting down the most adorable plaid fabric.  We also had lots of help from my parents with paint touch ups, switching out outlets and organizing baby clothes and from Jack's mom with figuring out the tricky crib skirt.

We decided on a train theme and are so thrilled with how it turned out!  (We also have a sort of secondary elephant theme)  I always thought that if I ever had a little boy I would do a train themed nursery.   For me, trains are a symbol of family, love and comfort.  The soothing sounds of a roaring train always seem to warm my heart.  I grew up being able to hear a train from my house, my Nana Koller loved to sit and listen to the sounds of a train, and my Papa Haack worked on the LIRR for many years.  Jack and I can even hear the comforting sounds of the train from our home.

I hope Robert Tyler will feel safe and loved in this beautiful nursery, created just for him!

Mommy and Daddy love you, Robert!  We are anxiously awaiting your arrival and can't wait to see your sweet face and give you kisses and cuddles!

37 Weeks Belly Pics

My mom came for a visit to help me finish off my baby "to do" list.  We got Robert's and my hospital bags packed, did lots of baby laundry, and did some shopping to pick up some Mommy and Baby essentials.  We had a great visit!
