ABES Shower

I work at a great school called Adrian Burnett Elementary School.  The entire staff there is so wonderful to work with and I really do feel lucky that I get to spend my days with such quality people. My teammates were kind enough to put together a shower to celebrate Baby Robert.  We had a fun afternoon with cupcakes, punch and all kinds of adorable gifts for Robert!

6 Months

I am now 24 weeks pregnant and feeling Baby Robert kick and move everyday!  What a special and amazing feeling.  Aside from a head cold for a couple of weeks I have been feeling pretty well.  I, of course, have a long list of "fun" pregnancy ailments but nothing too terrible right now.  Plus, every time I feel him move I seem to magically forget about any discomfort.  I'm really looking forward to summer starting too.  This Friday is our last day of school and I am definitely ready for a long summer break!

Happy Mother's Day

My mom and dad recently came for a quick visit to get their apartment set up.  That's right...Grammy and Grampy have their very own Knoxville pad!  I couldn't be happier about this as I know it will be so fun to have them around more often.  They still love their Florida home and life in The Villages, but having a place here will let them come and go as they please and make a life for themselves in Knoxville too.  Their visit happened to be just before Mother's Day and their wedding anniversary so Jack and I took them out for a big, yummy brunch to celebrate.  On actual Mother's Day we got to spend the day with Jack's mom Jane, otherwise known as Mimi to all the grandkids.  Baby Robert will be her 5th grandchild!

Happy 41st Anniversary Mom and Dad!

Me and all of the men in my life...including the one in my belly and my first 4 legged baby, Murphy.  What a lucky girl I am!
We didn't take any pics on Mother's Day, but I love this picture of Jane with her two boys.  I know Robert's "Mimi" will have great advice for us on raising little boys to be great men since she managed to do it twice!

Happy Mother's Day to both of our moms!  We are both so thankful to have been raised by truly amazing women and are grateful that we have all of their love and support as we embark on our own parenthood journey.

WHAT'S IN A NAME?

Baby Meece has a name!  ROBERT TYLER, named after two wonderful men in our lives.  Robert is my father and Tyler is Jack's younger brother.  With a name after two class acts, this baby boy is already off to a great start in life!

I truly feel blessed to have been raised by two amazing parents.  I consider both my Mom and Dad to be my best friends.  My father was, and still is, a constant source of guidance, unconditional love and support.   When Jack and I told my dad his grandson's name, he said he was honored.  However, I feel like it is our honor to name our son after him.

Although Jack is very much a big brother, forever looking after and worrying about his brother and sister, he has a great deal of respect and admiration for his younger brother, as do I.  Tyler is a great husband and father to two beautiful little girls.

So this little boy has some big shoes to fill!  But hopefully these first time parents can give him enough guidance and love to reach his fullest potentials.  We are so excited to start our journey as Baby Robert's Mommy and Daddy.    : )
