Wilderness at the Smokies

We took Beau to an indoor water park called Wilderness at the Smokies!  He loves the water and loves to swim so we thought he would love this and he really did.  We left after nap time, had some dinner when we arrived and then headed over to the water park.  He loved it all!  The slides, the sprinklers, but most of all he absolutely went crazy for the wave pool.  He got in a big tube and would crash it right into the waves and get soaking wet and laugh and squeal like he was having the time of his life!  There is just nothing better than seeing and hearing that pure joy coming from your child.  We also had some tears because he wanted to go out into the deep end by himself, which of course he couldn't do.  Daddy offered to take him out there but he refused.  I guess if he couldn't go by himself it just didn't seem fun enough.  He was fearless and wanted to do it all.  But that was short lived and he happily settled into a spot that he could stand on his own and crash waves until he wore himself out.  When we were all done playing we picked up some ice cream and headed back to the room.  In the morning we had some breakfast and played for another couple hours before having some lunch and heading home.  It was a quick trip but so very worth it!  We will definitely be heading back with both of our boys one day.

February 2016

This month was full of fun birthday celebrations!  Caroline, Mimi and James all had a birthday this month and we had a blast celebrating them and their special days.  First we got to Celebrate Caroline with a family dinner at Litton's and then at her birthday party at The Muse.  Unfortunately, it was during nap time so Robert didn't get to go but I went to celebrate with the birthday girl on her special day.  Next up was Mimi's special day!  We had Mimi over for dinner and had a great visit and celebration.  Beau had a blast playing peek a boo in a giant gift bag with Mimi and Aunt Kristie.  James' birthday was a big one this year!  He turned 40 and we had 2 very special and fun celebrations with him.  His parents hosted a lovely dinner at Calhoun's for family and friends.  Becca and Tyler and the girls came into town and it was so great to see them.  The following weekend Minde, James, Jack and I and some other friends escaped to The Highlands for a fabulous adults only birthday extravaganza weekend that Minde planned as a surprise for James.  Grammy and Grampy came to town to stay with Robert so we could have the weekend away.  It was an amazing weekend with lots of fun, laughs and great food (and drinks for everyone but the pregnant Momma) and we were so happy to be there to celebrate with James!

As for pregnancy news, I am 20 weeks pregnant this month and feeling Baby move every day!  We had our big 20 week anatomy ultrasound this month and Grammy and Grampy came along to check on their new grandson.  Thanks to Aunt Minde for entertaining Beau while we were there!  Baby Meece is doing great!  He's measuring right on target, had a good, strong heartbeat and is weighing in at 11 0z.

We also attempted swim lessons at the YMCA this month.  Daddy got in the pool with the rest of the little swimmers and their mommies or daddies.  Of course he was so excited to go swimming, however, he was not quite as excited to follow directions and do what the teacher was saying.  He just wanted to swim and play and be on his own agenda.  We will definitely have to work on that.  He had a blast though, and is really excited about learning how to swim all by himself.

What a great month!
