OBX, Duck, NC May 2016

We went on vacation with Grammy, Grampy and Aunt Kristie to The Outer Banks, NC.  We had never been there before and really enjoyed the sweet little town of Duck!  It was still early in the season so it wasn't bathing suite and swimming outside kind of weather but we still got to play on the beach most days.  Robert had a great time running on the beach, playing in the sand and standing in the cold crashing waves!  Jack and I got to have a much needed date night while Grammy, Grampy and Aunt Kristie took care of Beau.  There was one rainy morning that we couldn't get outside and play so we went to the Children's Museum and had lots of fun exploring all of the exhibits.  There was also an indoor pool that Robert went swimming with Grampy and Daddy.  This is the first year he can swim by himself (with his puddle jumper on)!  He was so excited and proud of himself.  He kept saying "I'm swimming!  I'm swimming!"  and wouldn't let Daddy help him at all.  He even jumped off of the side of the pool into Grampy's arms.  Unfortunately, we also had a quick trip to the Urgent Care to get a rash checked out that was spreading on Robert's neck and face.  It turned out to be nothing serious and cleared up a couple days after we got home.  Besides the beach and being with family, Duck Donuts and Donutz on a Stick were a big hit on this vacation!  Yum, yum and yum!  What a great vacation!

First steps on the beach.  Loving the sand between his toes!  He kept saying, "the beeeeeach"!
