December was such a fun month! We did lots of festive Christmas activities and had some good visits with family and friends.
Jack and I took Robert to see Santa Claus at the zoo. This year was much better than last year as far as meeting Santa. He was nervous but also really excited. This was the first year that Robert could really understand what we would tell him about Santa Claus and the story of Christmas. He enjoyed reading all of his Christmas books and talked about Santa Claus all month long. He also loved being at the zoo and seeing all of the animals! His favorite was the "big bad woooooolf"! He was so excited to see the wolf that he talked about it the entire time we were there until we came to their exhibit. Of course it was one of the last to see. But he also loved seeing the elephants, lions, monkeys and gorillas along the way.
We also went to a Pancake Breakfast with Santa Claus at Lakeside Tavern. Aunt Kristie and Mimi joined us too. Beau was so excited to see Santa arrive on a fire truck! He was such a big boy and when it was his turn walked right up to Santa and got on his lap. He gave us a big smile with a little silly help from Mommy. He received his first candy cane, which he loved, and the elves even left a little present at our table for him.
We then went to Chattanooga, along with the Hursts, to visit Terry and Monica. We had a great dinner and a nice visit with everyone. Terry and Monica got Beau a giant pirate ship that he absolutely loves!
Aunt Kristie and Mimi also joined us to go see the drive through Shadracks Christmas Light show. All of the lights were synchronized to music and it was really beautiful to see! Beau was truly amazed and enjoyed every minute of watching the show.
We also went to a Christmas party with Jack's co-workers at Kristen and Chris Tuckers house. A couple of houses down was all decked out with lights, blow ups and all kinds of Christmas decorations. We walked down to show Robert and it was quite a sight to see!
Mimi, Minde, James, Caroline and Wilson came over to our house for brunch and to celebrate Christmas early since we would be in Florida for Christmas. The kids played and opened presents and we all had a great lunch. So nice to spend time with family at this special time of year!
Jack and I also got to have a date night and go to a dinner party hosted my Minde and James at their house. We always enjoy the rare opportunities to hang out with them kid-free and actually have a conversation that lasts more than two minutes. It was a great night with lots of yummy food, big laughs and good friends!
What a great month! Lot of fun and beautiful memories made!
